| Recently I attempted to install a set of Random Technology Cats on my 92' NA. Random Technology claims that these cats/front pipes are a direct replacement for the OEM pipes. They are not. There are a number of design features that prohibit these pipes from directly replacing the OEM pipes. For example, the front flange that is supposed to mate to the stock exhaust manifold is different. In fact, it doesn't even reach the outlet of the OEM exhaust manifold because the pipe is bent in such a way that it strikes the underside of the car's floor board while the flange is still about two inches from the outlet. It appears that the pipes are designed to bolt to an aftermarket exhaust header which would by design extend lower than the OEM manifold. Has anyone else tried to install these pipes on such a car? Can anyone suggest another manufacturer/brand of replacement cats/front pipes that really are a direct replacement for the OEM pipes? I have no want to replace the stock manifolds. Ideally, I would like the replacements to be stainless steel.
